“So, my first story of love was when I was young, I was 13 years old, and I saw a girl in a school.
I liked her from the first go, but she never liked me, because I was one of the naughtiest people in the school, and I did not have a good image in the school. So, she did not like me because of the way I was at that time, and she refused me.
The first love, which did not go well, you know I told you it was 13 years? When I was 13 years old? Then, one of the girls asked me out at 15 years. You know, for two years, somebody asked me out, and that was the time when I recovered from the (first) girl. So I, I left the old memories and started a new life. I was still the same, I was still naughty and stuff, but the girl loved me the way I was.
For me, the love is liking, attraction, affection, feelings. It’s bit of emotions as well, that’s it for me.
So, I grew up back in India. I’m from a place called Chandigarh, I stayed there for 18 years and then I moved to New Zealand. I’ve been living in New Zealand from eight years, and I work in a company called Aiga Energy we’ve got seven Z service station in South Auckland, and up till now, we have planted more than 55,000 trees in South Auckland. Other than that, I’m involved in heaps of community works as well. Every week I spend more than 10 hours doing community work, looking after homeless people as well.
So, back in India, my dad explained to me one thing is to give back to the community where you are, irrespective of what class, colour, sex, or religion you are from, and I want to give back to New Zealand, because if it was not for New Zealand I would have not been a grown-up kid, I would not be what I am now. It’s all because of New Zealand, so I want to give it back to the people. To be honest, I love all the community how the people are, how people treat each other. If something happens in New Zealand, everybody comes together, irrespective of whatever religion and caste they are. I can give you a small example; last year there was an accident where an Indian person died, and all the community donated money. So, from that place I was really struck by that, so that’s why I get involved in heaps of community and sustainability work.
So, my family lives back in India, but I’m now originally a Kiwi now. So, I’m an Indian Kiwi. I want to stay my whole life in New Zealand and give back to the community.
So, possibly next year I’m going to get married, and have my wife from New Zealand as well, and spend my whole life in New Zealand, and move quite often to other countries as well, and go back to India and look after my family as well.
I just want to say thank you to you guys, for giving time to give, you know, take an interview from a young person like me, and asking me what I want in my future. Yeah, people like you motivate as well. You know? There are people who respect you.”
