“One of the biggest things was when I decided to go to New Zealand to be an exchange student when I was 15. So, I stayed here for one year, and then I thought maybe I want to live here when I become an adult.
So I’m originally from Japan, and I was just an ordinary student in Japan, and I was interested in an overseas experience. So, that’s when I decided to go on the exchange program when I was at high school, and then I came back to Japan, and finished uni, and started working there, but after maybe six years of my career, I decided to come back here, first as a working holiday. Then, I got a job here, and then got my residency, and that’s when I met my husband. So, he’s Kiwi, so that just worked out, after-all.
She is one and 10 months. She’s going to be two in May, and she’s really healthy, and she’s always really healthy. I enjoy life in New Zealand. It’s been maybe seven years or eight years in total, and I think it’s a good environment for my daughter as well. I like New Zealand. Enjoying life here.”
