Josh |Browns Bay
“My name is Josh. I live in the North Shore, Auckland. In Browns Bay. Well I suppose I’m a full-time worker, and just the fact that I’m unsure that I’m going to ever own a house, I’m unsure about my KiwiSaver fund, if it’s going to collapse in the future, if I should put into it or not.
I suppose our housing market’s probably the biggest one for me and the potential laws. For example, I’m probably an advocate for cannabis being legalised, but till this day it’s still illegal, and people are getting prosecuted against it, you know? People are still getting locked up, and it is unfair, because you know, alcohol probably has more effective damage in the community. Cigarettes as well.
I grew up in Gulf Harbour, and I left when I was nine to come to the North Shore, and I’m a fulltime roofer. What do I value? It’s probably family. Family and growth in the community. I don’t want to be 50 years old and still renting. I’d like my own piece of land. I think everybody’s entitled to their own. Well I’m working hard trying to move up the ladder, I suppose save for the KiwiSaver. I’d hope to have a patch of land somewhere on the coast, and be self-sustained, maybe a cannabis crop or two. I suppose I eventually want to get out of working and live solely on my own.”
