“I’d have to talk about giving birth, because that has really shaped who I am now and it’s been probably the most important moment of my life, I guess, which was eight months ago. I have a husband, Anthony and we recently just got married, and our daughter Thea, she’s eight months old.
She was our flower girl. She’s pretty cool. It’s been such a cool experience becoming a mum. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and it’s a really empowering experience, I think. I’ve learned how strong I can be, and how powerful it can be being a mum, and having this little person in your life that is so reliant on you. People have sort of thought I’m not really the most confident person, but you have to be confident as a mum. So it’s been a really empowering experience, I think.
I think connecting with other mums is the biggest thing. I’ve joined the Facebook community, and been going to Space, which has been really awesome to connect with other mums and even on the hardest days, you just turn up and they can empathise, and they can just share in what you’re experiencing, and give advice, and that’s been the best thing I think, for me.
I’ve been born and raised in Auckland, and I really value family, and friendships, and imagination, and creativity. But I think family is the most important thing to me.”
