Roni | Mt Wellington
“Roni from Mt Wellington. I remember one time I was at the bakery and there was this old man, and he had a crutch on, and he was walking across the road, but it was busy, and I just helped him across.
Oh, it was just automatic. I was just taught to do that. My parents are hard, strict, but I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. Grew up in a household where you’re meant to show respect to everyone, especially elders. I was just brought up to show respect, and if you don’t, you know, you get the old slap on the head.
Because well, we were just brought up to do that kind of stuff. It’s just how I am, how my family is. I value my family. I grew up in East Auckland, in Mt Wellington. Been there my whole life.”
