“Oh, This morning I, my partner woke up with a hangover, so I made him a nice breakfast and helped him feel better. I suppose that counts as kindness.
He did the Dry July actually, which I suppose is a bit of an act of kindness in itself, to raise money for cancer. He actually ended up going 32 days without drinking instead of just the 31, and so he over-did it a little bit and drank an entire bottle of wine, in celebration, and I knew it was going to happen, so I made sure he had water beside his bed when he woke up, and then I brought him a nice little blueberry muffin that I’d made the day before. So, he had something to pad his tummy with.
At the moment I’m making a dress for a birthday party, and my mum noticed how much I was struggling with it, and she really kindly offered to help me out with it, which is really nice of her.
Me and my mum are definitely really tight. She is my role model. If I am as good a mum as she is then that’s a win, quite frankly. She used to actually make dresses for me and my sister when we were little. Little cute, simple dresses, and we’ve actually still got some of them in the cupboard, and she’s always make sure that we had something unique to wear, rather than what everyone is wearing. I think I really – I didn’t at the time, but now I really, really treasure that, because it means I’ve got, I’ve got a bit of a different view on life, which I’m really thankful for.
I think kindness in the community is really important, because you know, you want to give what you receive. So, if you’re mean to someone, they’re not exactly going to be the nicest person back to you, but if you’re kind to someone, the likelihood of them being nice back to you is increased quite a bit. I think, yeah these days we really do need to be kinder to one another, with what’s going on in the world right now. There’s a lot of hate out there. Kindness could fix the world.
I grew up in the UK actually. I moved over here in 2009. The most important thing in life to me, I think is to be really cheesy and quote Disney; to have courage and be kind. If you do that, you can’t do anything else wrong.”
