“It’s actually a tough question, but I think I was about 15, my older siblings and my cousins and all of that got into an argument with some fellas in New Lynn. At the time, I was only 15.
They were just causing a lot of ruckus at the place, and at the time I didn’t really know what to do. So, I guess it was just a time for me to show my braveness and just man up. I guess it’s just the way I was raised when I was young. Being able to show that full potential in me.
For myself, I learned that being able to stand up to those things, I will be able to stay stronger in the future.
So, I grew up just around the corner in Roskill South. I stayed there throughout my teenage years, until we moved out to West Auckland. Been staying out there for seven years or so. So, right now, I’m trying to find a job just so I can focus on my future and provide for my kids.
I guess just be yourself and focus on what your needs and what your wants are, instead of worrying about what other people’s.”
