“When me and my friend rented this apartment from this guy, and it turned out he was scamming us, and he didn’t pay the rent for the apartment, so we paid him, and he took off with our money.
It wasn’t that much, but it made a good story, and we had a lot of experience from that, like being kicked out on the street and making the best of the situation, which sort of made the whole place more memorable, I would say.
It taught me not to be so naive, maybe get things more formal and written like evidence for what you are buying or going to do. We met some friends during the same time, and we sort of took a spontaneous trip with our car, and like a lot of things happened during that time, which hadn’t happened, unless we stayed in that apartment.
I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden on an island, and that sort of started my journey on sea, and now I work as a third officer on this cruise ship. We’re down in Auckland, and we travelled from LA until here now, and things have taken quite a turn, with this Coronavirus situation. So things have stopped in the tracks. What I value in life, I would say being out, being away for a long time, I value my friends and family a lot and these ordinary things you do back at home, that you don’t think about, which you miss when you’re away from it, for a very long time.”
