“I’m the security over here and I always help all the people in the shops and see what they do, see what they want, and I do it for them, and they’re very happy with me, when I’m down here.
I usually just walk around to see if everyone is alright and just make sure everyone is behaving, and all that stuff, and then just make sure all the shops and all the people, that they’re alright.
I’m here till about eight in the morning and I finish about four or five in the afternoon. So, I’m just all day helping them, helping them out.
I feel good. Because I’ve been doing it for probably about 20 or 30-odd years. So, I’ve been here since about 1998, and I’ve just been helping them out and seeing what they will need and, and just see what they want.
The people in the shops, there’s quite a few of them moving out, and some new ones are moving in.
I stay in Papatoetoe. I used to stay with Mum over Māngere, but now I’ve moved on by myself. So, she’s in the rest-home now, and I’m just staying by myself, just coping with myself and just keeping along.
I feel very good and very happy with that.”
