“Home to me is family, feeling supported, comforted. Being safe around my loved ones. 

I didn’t have a dad at the start, until my stepdad came along. It was pretty hard when we found out he has a disease and it’s cancer. So since he came into our life, it was a big thing, and then I started bonding with my family more, and respecting more stuff like that.

So, I basically grew up in Coromandel. I was born in Tauranga, but grew up in Coromandel, up on the farms and stuff, and it was really hard for my mum.

Because if you don’t have family, you have nothing. To me, family is everything. Having brothers and my mum, my stepdad. So, yeah that’s the main important thing to me, family first.”
