Li’ekina | Onehunga
“So my name’s Li’ekina. I’m 18 years old. I stay in Onehunga, but I grew up in Ponsonby. So I’m a waitress at a restaurant in Ponsonby, and I want to be a politician in the future.
So, I’ve had a few customers give me good advice about the way I should start off my career, for example to become a politician you have to start off with being a lawyer.
I want to be a politician because I want to help people. I want to help the people that are in need, and like nowadays we see people being homeless, you know? Like, I just feel sorry for them, so I want to help and change the things that we need to change, and stuff.
So I grew up in Ponsonby Central. So, it’s in town. I’m Tongan. I’ve only visited the islands maybe three times. Basically I’m a Kiwi, and I value family and friends.”
