Drew | Onehunga

“Drew and I call my home Onehunga. I’ve been given a boost by members in the community who support people, like community workers, because they give really good advice, because they’re knowledgeable in fields.

I have an example, but it’s not actually a community worker. It’s friends who told me about the paradox that if you think that you’re lower than you are in expectations, then you will be lower, and so you have to feel good about yourself in order to be a better person.

So, I felt like I wasn’t capable of getting out and working or going to school, but every time I told myself that I would stay home and I would, I wouldn’t be able to accomplish anything. So, if I went out to do stuff, and told myself that I can do it, then I would be able to accomplish more things. I hope to be an economist for small businesses and large businesses so that they can work together in supporting our community, and our world in every country so that there is equal opportunity.

So, I grew up in Australia, but I was born in New Zealand, and what I value is friends and the environment. So I value that we keep a healthy and safe environment that’s clean but also people are friendly and not violent. That’s good. It’s what I value.

It is very important to have people support you, because it’s very easy to be dissociated without people. People are there to remind you who you are, and who you would like to be.”
