Ian | Remuera
“So my name’s Ian, and I live in Remuera. I guess my work colleague helped me out last night on a vehicle that I was having problems with. He came round and gave me a hand.
It’s not the first time he’s done it, and he doesn’t ask for anything in return or anything like that, and it’s just been very helpful.
I originally grew up in Manukau City then I moved down to Takanini. I got married in 2012, and then I went through separation in 2015. I’ve since then met my partner that I’m with now. I’ve been with her for three years. What’s important to me would definitely be family, having fun, and not taking life too seriously. I think helping out friends is sort of how you make friends and keep friendships strong, and I help out friends when I can. So, to have that favour returned, it just gives you a sense of belonging, essentially like that friendship should take place. There’s nothing worse than having friends that just take advantage of you, and that you wouldn’t really call friends.”
