I’m an exchange student here, and I found out that one of my classes wasn’t going to transfer over, five weeks into the class. So, I really didn’t have any option, so I have to stick out the class, but I’m not going to get any credit for it. So, that’s pretty frustrating.

So, what I did, actually I went to the department head at my university back home, and I explained to him why I think this should pass as a class, and I told him the reasons. I told him of the situation I was in. He was like, yeah that sounds great to me, I’ll work on helping you out with it. So, that was the way I overcame it, I guess, not thinking that you’re stuck in that situation, but thinking about all the possibilities – all the ways you can get out of that situation that you don’t want to be in.

He hasn’t officially said yes, but he said that it’s looking like a yes. So, good stuff.

Oh, I have another, I have a funny story when I was a kid. So, you guys know Tamagotchi – the little toy that you play with? I loved my Tamagotchi. I was in first grade, and one night I left it in the car, and my brother was like, oh can I play a game on your Tamagotchi?  And, I’m like, sure I left it in the car, I think it died though, can you just bring it back so I can make a new one and rename it? He’s like, yeah sure. And so, he went to the car and he pressed all these buttons, and he named my Tamagotchi H, and I was so mad, because they last a long time. So, I had to leave my Tamagotchi in H for a month. So, I was really mad at him.

Yeah I, I think anger is a problem. Firstly you see people getting mad at employees all the time. That’s unwarranted, and I think this is something that can be solved at a really young age, having a strong support system and having family members that you can talk to, and friends that you can talk to, is the best way to outgrow anger problems.

Yeah, so depending on the situation, I usually talk to someone I trust, like my parents or my friends, and they’ll let me vent to them, and then I’ll work through. I’ll be mad, and then I’ll come to accept it. Yeah, so I guess it’s having a good support system.

So I’m from the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. I’ve lived there my whole life. I go to the University also in Massachusetts, and I came to New Zealand for this semester because this place is incredible. There’s so many things to do. I’m going sky-diving next week.

Some things that are important to me are my family, my friends. I really like travelling. Everyone likes travelling, but this is the time in my life where I get to do it, so that’s pretty awesome. I value having a stable life, and a strong community.”
