Lizzie | Titirangi
“Well I’m very lucky at the moment; I’m taking some time out from working. So, with kindness from so many people and having the opportunity for things to happen I’m inspired every day. Random acts of kindness, and trying to do good will to others I think is a really important thing. So, just being kind to others, and out of that you’re inspired, and that also inspires me to be a better person.
At the moment I’ve been painting the outside of my house, and I’ve been lucky that a friend came and offered me his scaffolding for free, that was a big bonus. Also while I was painting one day I actually did far too much painting and I actually ended up fainting, and face-planting on the asphalt. I was very lucky that I have very kind people in my neighbourhood that came and helped me, and a very good friend raced around, who is an acupuncturist and I became the facial pin cushion, but it definitely helped with the healing.
I had most of my younger years brought up in England, and then we came out to New Zealand, but I’ve very much a New Zealander now. I’m very much a passionate West Aucklander. I love Titirangi. I love the trees. I love the bush.
It’s very important, and I’m very blessed; I have lovely neighbours. I’ve also got a little dog, so we go out walking a lot. Titirangi is very much dogville, so probably I met a lot of neighbours and a lot of people, but probably I know the dog’s name better than I know the people. We have a very strong sense of community, and in fact my next door but one neighbour, I became very good friends with, and she’s now moved down to Tauranga, and we have still remained very good friends. So yeah I, I feel very blessed living here.”
