“Oh yeah, okay, basically my dad has brought me a trip to go to America at the end of this year, and my mum was planning to come round and see me, because my parents are divorced.
Basically, it’s my mum’s time of the year to see me, but my dad’s already bought the trip and it’s really expensive so I don’t know what to do there. I’m just going to have to go with my dad, and then just work from there, explain that to my mum.
I lived in West Auckland till I was two and then my parents split up. My mum moved down to Christchurch and we moved out to Tuakau for a bit. I went and lived with my mum in Australia for two years, and then she stayed there permanently and my dad got me back. I lived in Tuakau till I was eight, had a step-sister, and then we moved out into Karaka because there were better day care times and more job opportunities. I was only two so I didn’t really know what was going on. I just think that when I leave home, I get a free decision to choose who I live with or who I go and see.”
