“I pretty much grew up in Auckland, around GI/Panmure. It was pretty good growing up but lately, probably the last couple of years, have gone pretty bad; there’s a lot of violence, drugs, it’s just not a safe place.
The most important thing to me is the wellbeing of my family, a safe environment for my children to grow up in. I have six children, my oldest child is 20 and my youngest is seven and I want kids to be able to grow up in a safe environment where they’re not intimidated to be in gangs or deal drugs, or you know, just to hang around with bad people and make good choices in life, and I want them all to finish school.
I was recently in a serious car accident last year in November where I had a spinal injury, and since then I’ve learned to appreciate life a lot more better, so I appreciate my family every single day of my life.
People just need to pull together as a community. Help each other out and look after the young children for today.”
