Sister Perocho | Philippines
“I’ve been in New Zealand for 16 months, and it’s really cool to be here.
I grew up in the Philippines, and for us Filipinos, we are really family oriented. What’s important to me is my family and helping them and to give them better lives. I think my hope in the future is, for my life to have better lives, and I think to see them grow and also, for our brothers and sisters, not only in the Philippines, but in the whole world to draw me closer to God or Heavenly Father.
Because we as missionaries, we just love to go around and we love to talk to people, and one thing that we share is about how our lives were changed. The question, it really helped me to ponder or think deeply about the question, and I just realised that the change that I want is to become a better person, and for me, to become more closer to God or to Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Also for me to be able to be better help for those around us, and having other people’s life change as well, and to become a good inspiration to those people around us. That’s the change that I want.
Upon serving a mission I’ve seen a lot of people’s lives change through the Gospel or the teachings of Jesus Christ and how they apply it in their lives. Seeing those people change, I know that there’s a lot of in store for me as well. I just want to be better so that I could help more people to change.”
