What do you hope to achieve this year?
Richard | Te Tai Poutini
Richard is embracing a healthier lifestyle by enjoying the natural beauty of the West Coast, with plans to travel and fish as he looks forward to his retirement.
“It pays to get out on a sunny day. The Coasters would say this is a sunny day.
This year I’ve given up cigarettes, so that’s a good thing. I’m just going to enjoy the West Coast and go fishing, get healthier. I’ve got a few friends around the place. I moved from Motueka to Greymouth, so I was up Nelson Creek Road for a while, and that was a beautiful place.
A change is as good as a holiday. So it does pay to move if your life is getting too much and your friends are too much, move on. It’s a great country, New Zealand, and you can make friends anywhere.
I’m 62. I’m waiting for my KiwiSaver so I can kick back and relax, and maybe I’ll get a camper van and travel around New Zealand and go fishing full time. It’s great therapy. Good clean air, not so much traffic, and it’s more relaxing down here.”
