Palestine | Ōtāhuhu
“Okay, my name is Palestine. Both my parents are from Samoa, but I’m originally New Zealand-born.
South Auckland. Ōtāhuhu. I’m from Ōtāhuhu, and I’m loving it, because I’m just right next door to Māngere anyway. I love the people of being communicating with each others. I work with the Māori Wardens too from Manukau, and we get people to communicate with me. You know, we’re doing our job. They’re doing their job, and we get kids that are on the streets. We go up to them, talk to them, and things like that.
Yes most definitely, I would love to achieve something I can do for 2020, but 2019, it’s the end of the year, so I hope everyone will listen to what I’m trying to tell them, and I just hope that I will achieve that goal.
I want to achieve my goals, well what I will do for next year, and hopefully, I will get somewhere by the next year, 2020. Because I work part-time for security. I’m trying to, because I used to be a bad boy back in the days, but I’m 58 and I’m too old for that, now. I want to see the kids that are growing up to be, you know, to be themselves, but just don’t go too hard on doing stupid things. I’d like to get a full-time job being security, because I’ve been with the security for their badge for the last 15 years, but when I heard that they moved out of Eden Park, they just dropped out. So, hopefully 2020 will give me a positive attitude to communicate with people.
I grew up in, in Eden Terrace. I’m actually originally from downtown, but downtown was too expensive, so we moved out of there and we’re now here in South Auckland. We’ve been here for the last 30-odd years. It was cheap those days, back in the days in Eden Park, Eden Terrace ways.”
