Merieni and Tina – Henderson and Te Atatū Peninsula
“The way children think. They’re different, yeah they’re very energetic. You don’t have to care about your image and that. You can just do whatever you want. What really matters in the world, and stuff like that.
I have a little sister, yeah and some nieces and nephews. They’re pretty annoying at times. Currently last year of college, studying to get into university. I’m in my last year of college, trying to get into uni. I’m excited for the future. See where it takes us. In today’s world we see a lot of magazines with expectations of what you’re supposed to look like but some of us don’t really meet the requirements, and I guess that’s why we keep trying to change ourselves, but children don’t really care. Because they don’t really know about it yet.
Social media is everywhere and a lot of people just try to copy what’s on their social media, and it’s the only way they think that they can fit in. Maybe you could make a page or something. That would encourage others just to be themselves. Gives positive feedback to everyone else’s pages instead of putting people down. There’s a lot of that, like makeup pages that put people down for wearing makeup, stuff like that. It’s like anonymous sites where you can just write stuff up about other people.”
