“It would be my granddad who passed away seven years ago, because, I hadn’t seen him for quite a wee while before he passed away. So it would be nice.
For me, I grew up with my granddad, so there was a lot of outdoor activities that you kind of grew out of. Mostly, I miss going horse-riding with him, and going onto his farm, and milking the cows, and picking the watermelons. So, I mean, I hadn’t seen that for a wee while before he passed away, so I think it would be nice to just go back and chat about that. He taught me a lot of patience, is what he taught me. He taught me to just calm down and take things slowly. He actually taught me a lot of things. I learned how to, I don’t know because Mum and Dad were always working, so he taught me all the little nitty-gritty things that no-one was around to do.
I was born in the Fiji Islands. Not on the main island. On the other island, that really no-one knows about. So, Vanua Levu. I came here when I was very young. So, I do call New Zealand home.
Value in life? I really value my culture. I think it’s very important to keep that culture as you grow up, and out into new worlds. So, yes that’s quite important.”
