Isaac – Pt Chevalier
“The last text message would be, ‘Hi Dad – this is my number, it’s Isaac.’
Just to let my dad know what my number was, because we haven’t contacted each other in a while. We’ve both been a bit too busy with our own pathways, maybe. He’s working, I’m doing courses, and, yeah, we’re just reconnecting.
I’m doing a Māori culture course. The programmes are drug and alcohol, mind over mood, and violence reduction, just to be safer in the community. In the past I’ve had violent problems, but I’m just addressing it at the moment. You can lessen the violating in the community if you just keep busy with positive stuff.
You can try and learn from your parents and your family. They only want the best for you; see what they’re trying to do for you to have good in your life. Yeah, I love my dad. I’ve got much love for my dad.”
