“Take more time for myself. Just everything is so busy all the time, so I would take, I would try to spend more time being mindful of the moment.
I’m French, so I’ve arrived in New Zealand about 17 years ago. I value family and human beings, connections with people. I’m studying to be a naturopath, and I’m almost finished. So, I guess mother earth and just valuing the whole connection of the world.
I think just studying naturopathy is really, it is always a passion, but I’ve got four children and my husband runs a business. I’ve been helping him with the admin and all, so it feels like for the past 16 years it’s a race, and the last maybe three years is just constantly running here, running there. No time for anyone, and I’m almost finished, so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I just realise that being outside, sitting and doing nothing among the trees for example will just calm me down and bring me peace. Growing older, I’m realising that this peace is what I need to be able to be nice and relaxed around other people, and help others. So, the time in yourself is quite major for, yeah to be able to help the world.
My hope for the future is to reach, to help people, as many people as I can, live without anxiety. I think it’s just the amount of people that I meet that are already, and teenagers that are already on depression and taking anti-depression medicine and are just lost. So, my hope for the future is to be the person to help in my community, people feel less isolated and lonely and, and scared and depressed. That’s my hope.”
