Clair | Māngere East

“Hi my name is Clair. I live in Māngere East, and I live in Auckland. In the year ahead, I believe that I can do many things, like I want to get into a lot of sports, in 2019 I didn’t really like doing sports, but it was really cool. This year was great, but hopefully the next year will be even greater, and there’s more things to come.

I’m from Kawerau, it’s by Rotorua. I was kind of raised there, here and there. I go to Sir Douglas Bader, and today I don’t go to school. My favourite hobbies are rugby and touch, but at the moment I’m doing Waka Ama which is canoeing. I’m playing for Manukau. Growing up was alright. Oh, wasn’t quite alright. Growing up was quite a struggle. Lots of schools I’ve moved places a lot.

Sometimes when I do Waka Ama I don’t really like, I’m not really excited about it, but as I get onto the water, I’m like really into it. Sometimes I’m not really fit to start doing sports at school, I tried, and I didn’t make it end. Yeah, didn’t go, and ah, yeah it is important um, you know, if you eat in the mornings in the mornings, it will just give you that kind of energy to do a lot of things. I don’t really eat in the mornings, but yeah, eat healthy. You’ll get to different places, if you do.”
