Dylan – Point Chevalier
“The last message I sent to someone would have been to my sister in regards to university and the evolution of fashion.
You’ve heard of 3D printing? Basically they’ve come up with a whole system where you can actually print out what you want to wear, and design it yourself.
I’m very passionate about people. It shocks me that there’s been an increase in homelessness the last 10 years, since the National Government has, what they believe, progressed. However, I believe it’s caused a sense of depression for New Zealand people, particularly in the city – the great city of Auckland.
Mental illness is actually a huge factor with a lot of people these days. It’s increasing with things like anxiety. Actually, I can be completely honest here and I’m not ashamed to admit that I actually suffer from mental illness. I get anxiety quite often, like just recently actually. Not last night, but the night before I suffered from waves of anxiety. I’m really concerned that the world’s going to end due to climate change, and that’s caused me to have anxiety. I often worry about things like this. There’s a lot that can be done, but we’ve got so little time to improve things.
I’m currently studying Sustainable Business Enterprise. I have a dream to be like the next Steve Jobs, but from a different perspective. I would like to come up with ideas that can tackle these huge issues that are destroying the planet today.
I’d like to see a greater level of happiness for all – all human beings that live in this beautiful city that we call Auckland. I think people just need to look at things differently. I mean there’s an element of racism that exists in any society. In Auckland City we have a lot of refugees and a multi-cultural, diverse population. I think people have to be optimistic and have an open mind and be more welcoming to these people. At the end of the day, they’re just people and there’s more good than bad in this world, and that’s what really matters. We must welcome everyone and treat everyone with respect, because if we do that, we’re going to have a happier population and less problems.”
